Pat and Sari's Honeymoon Bike Ride

Thursday, July 03, 2008 - Rest Day in Clarkston, WA

No pictures today - we spent the day doing our usual rest day duties, mainly getting the route for next week finalized and taking care of other odds and ends. We had an interesting encounter while having dinner at a near-by 50's diner. We started chatting with another couple there and told them about our trip. The guy asked us if we were on a tandem bike - it turned out he was a mail deliverer in Pomeroy and had passed us yesterday when we went through that town! They were in Clarkston today to do some shopping (it's the nearest "big" town). Small world.

The coming week we will go through Idaho in 4 days and end with a rest day in Missoula, Montana, home of our friends, the Adventure Cycling people. There are lots of good bike shops in Missoula, we hear, so we'll get a good tune-up there. We'll also be in Mountain Time, an hour closer to our home time. Happy 4th of July!
